Frequently Asked Questions

Ravedio is an off-grid mesh communication platform. Each Ravedio node creates a local mesh network that lets you send messages, share locations, and coordinate with your crew — no cell service or internet required.
Each Ravedio node communicates with nearby nodes using LoRa radio. Messages hop from node to node until they reach their destination. The more nodes in the area, the stronger and more reliable the network becomes.
A single node can reach over 2km line-of-sight with the built-in antenna. In a mesh, messages hop through multiple nodes, extending effective range across the entire network.
Yes. The Ravedio app pairs with your node via Bluetooth and provides the full messaging experience — channels, direct messages, intro messages, location sharing, offline maps, and festival map overlays.
Private channels and known-contact direct messages are encrypted on-device. Open DMs (intro messages) are plaintext by design — they're meant for first contact before keys are exchanged, not private conversation.
Open DM is a lightweight intro path for first contact on a live mesh. It's plaintext so nearby nodes can relay it without needing your keys. Private DM is the encrypted channel used after two users become known contacts.
Yes. The app supports offline venue maps and imported image overlays. You can overlay an official festival map with live pins, saved locations, and shared positions.
The Node v1 lasts approximately 72 hours on a single charge via USB-C — enough for a full festival weekend.
Yes. Ravedio works anywhere you need off-grid communication — camping, hiking, emergencies, community events, or any situation where cell service is unavailable.
